LASHAWNDA K. JACKSON, ESQ.
LaShawnda Jackson is a double Gator having graduated from the University of Florida with a BA degree in 1999 and a JD degree in 2002. While in undergrad, she was a hammer thrower and shot putter on the Lady Gator Track & Field team. After graduation from law school, LaShawnda joined the Orlando Office of Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell, P.A., where she currently defends companies against premises liability, product defect, and motor vehicle accident liability claims. As part of her product liability practice, LaShawnda defends manufacturers and distributors of a variety of products including automobiles, forklift trucks, refuse trucks escalators and personal watercraft against product liability claims. She also advises and represents public entities such as housing authorities and various governmental agencies and municipalities with regard to civil rights claims, public record laws and compliance with Section 119 of the Florida Statutes. In 2013, LaShawnda was designated as one of the Orland Business Journal’s (OBJ’s) “40 Under 40.” In 2014, she was recognized again by the OBJ as one of the “2014 Women to Watch” and was awarded the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) Professionalism Award. She is a past president of the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association and the OCBA Young Lawyers Section. Also, LaShawnda currently holds leadership roles/board positions with the OCBA and the George C. Young Central Florida Inns of Court. She is also active with the National Bar Association where she has served on the Constitution & Bylaws Committee for a number of years and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Corporate Law Section.
